Monumental Labs recreated three sandstone balconies on the landmarked Villard Houses in midtown Manhattan (now part of the Lotte New York Palace).

The ornamental balcony panels had been worn away by the elements over 140 years. Many originals were so worn that it was impossible to directly copy them. Monumental Labs used historic photographs and our study of the building's ornament systems to arrive at our best guess of how the panels may have looked. The sandstone slabs were then milled by robot and finished by our hand carvers.
